Justice x Surface 2 Air

This callabo kicks some ass.

One of my fave high end fashion label's Surface 2 Air and Justice, my new fave group, mashed ingredients together and the result is a a limited edition series of 3 jackets (150 pieces), and 2 jeans, conceived and designed by Justice for Surface To Air. Simply awesome. The Jacket has an excellent bomber jacket cut, the pants seemless and tight, or as Willy coined it "TAPS" = Tight ass pants (baggy pants are so early 2000's); fits the bands forte quite well. Maybe I'll get lucky and inherit one of these pieces...good chance that I won't however.

Our close compadre's at Curiculum put up an exclusive homies video. Props to Cameron for the editing and the footie. San Diego breed's ripper's; it's a treat to watch these kids grow up and progress in the industry. Check the video. It's excellent.

Donnie Darko

In late 2001 I ran into a beautiful Movie that now, years later, has a t-shirt/dvd/accessorie explosion in every Hot Topic across America that has me scratching my head. And unfortunately, it saturated the true essence of a great independent film and Rookie filmmaker Richard Kelly's stardom (stumped from its popularity) who literally started filming Donnie Darko 2 steps out of USC film school. It is a brilliant movie, but with the ridiculous cult following for aeshetic reasons and over merchandised paraphernalia; one would be strayed away to watch Donnie Darko. I'm telling you; Ignore the hype and enjoy an excellent film!

There isn't much I CAN'T say about Ilan Rubin. When you hear the term 'Genius' or 'Prodigy' - typically you think of Einstein, Mozart or a Beethoven. In this case, Ilan Rubin is a true genius and to be honest, could easily hang with those cats. At the tender age of 8 he was jamming on the drums (yes, playing beats, Live.) At the age of 9 he was in his older brothers band F.O.N. jamming...by 11 he had already toured in the Vans Warped Tour, played with NOFX and made the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest musician to ever play on a Woodstock stage. So to say the least he rocks...plus, of course, he's a cool cat ( a term I use too often).

To display his Genius, on his break from jamming with the Lost Prophets He decided to make his own band. Unreal. He plays every instrument AND sings....pfff...wow.

Check out: The New Regime. He did an awesome job and the production value is sharp and complete. One word. Rad. Ilan, I'm blowing you up son, you deserve it...and you're only 19...you bastard! Hehe, you should help me clean up my rudiments for free! Kidding...you rock.

Supra NS Spring line

The Supra NS Spring 2008 line-up is a pretty stellar collection. When this shoe brand first dropped, I sensed great things out of them and find myself impressed every time they release a new season line-up. They are adding a 3rd dimension to the skate shoe. The new brand presents a line-up of hi top sneakers in black and white (timeless) in high end materials and unfortunately, a high-end price tag (you won't pay less then 160$ for these). BUT - great shoes command a great price tag. I'll be rocking these, without a doubt. Check them out.

These bad boys will be available soon. I'd check out Willy's Workshop or Blackwax. Much love, enjoy a wonderful sunday!

Our family at curiculummag.com have released their new site format. It's simplified, a little more interpersonal and dynamic with their fused blog, and user friendly navigation.
